THE POWER OF LISTENING TO YOUR BODY
Listening to your body is one of the most powerful things you can do. Often Personal Training comes with the perception that you only get your value for money by reaching physical exhaustion every session. But what happens when your body feels exhausted, tired, muscle tightness before even starting a session?
Recently, I had 3 clients on the same day who came to me with the above feelings. Each of these sessions, I scrapped what was initially planned, and instead were all mat based, the focus on gentle stretching, mobility, allowing the body and mind to relax which I tailored to each individual needs.
Personal Training is more than just about always pushing the body to the limits. It is about learning to tune in to what your body needs, what your mind needs and listening to it when it feels to be nourished, not further exhausted. This isn’t a step back in progress by any means, if anything it is a step forward as you allowing your body to replenish energy, relax and having the positive release of endorphins for gently moving your body.
In a world that is already so fast paced, sometimes tuning into your body and taking it slower is just what we need.
