MOVING FOR YOU
Exercise shouldn’t be centered around the scales.
It’s so easy to get yourself into a cycle of weighing yourself everyday, and/or after training sessions. But, that number is only showing one thing and can be disheartening if there’s limited change to it! That’s not to say changes are not happening. For example you may be losing body fat, increasing your muscle mass, but unless you have scales that are able to measure this and other factors, standard scales does not give you this further information. Therefore it can feel like nothing is changing, when in fact a lot is!
Although these values can be important, there are so many more victories that the number on the scales are not showing you. For this reason I will never weigh any clients during Personal Training sessions as I believe the following should be prioritised and outweigh what a number is showing:
✨more energy & better mood
✨learning more about your body and its needs
✨able to do more reps/sets/weight or improved time for exercises
✨more endurance to do everyday tasks
✨clothes fit more comfortably or looser
✨a passion to want to exercise & move your body
✨wanting to fuel your body with cleaner eating
These should be priority, not pinning everything on just one number. But regardless of everything, the most important thing is exercising and moving your body for you, and for your own wellbeing!
